It is widely recognised that a child’s emotional health and wellbeing influences their cognitive development and learning as well as their physical and social health and their mental wellbeing in adulthood. (Promoting Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing)

For young people wellbeing encompasses various elements that contribute to their overall happiness, health, and emotional balance. It involves providing a safe and inclusive space where students can freely express themselves, be heard, and feel respected. Encouraging healthy relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and promoting positive mental health are key components of pupil wellbeing.

We promote pupil wellbeing by addressing the diverse needs and offering a variety of support services, e.g.  access to counselling, mental health resources, teaching emotional intelligence and coping skills.

Our ultimate aim is to ensure that each individual feels supported and has the tools to navigate challenges effectively.

Educators and support staff are a vital element in the development of young people, both educationally and personally. Ensuring their wellbeing is paramount in creating a positive and productive learning environment. We want our staff members  to know they are valued, respected, and supported allowing them to be engaged, motivated, and effective in their roles.

We prioritize staff wellbeing by implementing various methods, such as providing professional development opportunities, fostering a collaborative work culture, = offering avenues for work-life balance, encouraging open communication, recognising achievements, and acknowledging the challenges.
